The Destiny 2 update is long awaited by many, as it’s clear it will come up with some important changes that may affect the experience of the players. As speculated in the Destiny2 Hunter’s ability preview shared by Bungie, the Hunter’s abilities are going to undergo tremendous changes, affecting both the PvE and PvP gameplay.
The update includes the following changes:
Threaded Spectar Aspect, which will be marked by increased cooldown duration of Marksman Dodge. Furthermore, a removed dodge cooldown penalty after creating a clone will also be introduced and if the clone gets destroyed during attacks, it will no longer spawn threadlings. The clone will be mainly used for distracting nearby combatants and increasing the amount of time before exploding.
Swarm Grenade will have an increased base cooldown duration of 15% and the moved Swarm Grenade will have a slower recharge tier to facilitate non-passive grenade energy gains.
Smoke Bomb melee will have reduced time of smoke bomb projectile that will linger in the world from 10s to 3.5s. Additionally, the player movement speed penalty imparted by the smoke will also be reduced by 25%.
Threaded Specter will have increased detonation damage vs. combatants by 33%.
Swarm Grenade submunitions will chain-detonate nearby submunitions and will be easier to shoot.
All these changes are enlisted by Destiny 2 in the preview Reddit thread, but they aren’t finalized and are subject to changes until the final 2024 rollout in September.
